Eugen Varzić is a Croatian painter. His work is defined by strong artistic tradition and a constant search for authentic expression. He graduated in painting from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka in 1999. Later, he studied in Madrid, attending workshops led by Eloy Morales and Antonio López García — two leading figures of contemporary Spanish realism. The experience profoundly shaped his painting.
With more than forty solo exhibitions and over a hundred group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad, he has established himself as a distinctive voice on the contemporary art scene. Numerous international art projects have marked his career, alongside his own creative initiatives.
Beyond painting, he works in graphic design, illustration, and short film. Through art workshops and mentoring, he prepares students for art academy admissions. A long-time participant in charity art auctions, he believes art carries a responsibility toward the community.
At the first TEDxPula conference in Istria, he gave a talk titled Art as Breathing.
