- Explanation of terms weltsmertz

Weltschmerz (from the German, which means pain of the world or world-weariness) is a term coined by German author Jean Paul and denotes the type of emotions experienced by someone who understands that physical reality can never satisfy the demands of the mind. This kind of pessimistic view of the world was widespread among several romantic authors such as Lord Byron, Giacomo Leopardi, François-René de Chateaubriand, Alfred de Musset, Nikolaus Lena, Herman Hesse, and Heinrich Heine.

The term is also used to denote a feeling of sadness, which creates in us the evil that happens in the world. Weltschmerz in that sense it can cause depression, resignation and escapism, and can become a mental problem. Or how to define Sonja Savic in documentary film as it was used - "... will come a day when we will all be dressed in white , there will come a day when we will be waveing by the palm trees to each other ... "

New pictures continue "Fa Presto" cycle from 2009 under the name "Circus" turning the introvert of the world and spending some of the current situation which outline in pictures. Again, my family - the point from which to walk. The point of happiness and security. In the chaos and Weltsmertz. Painting is a classic approach, but the material that I caught the acrylic (which I deliberately avoided until recently).

In some attempts I use plastic relief, something that monitors my work since 2001. For now, trying to vary the format of 40x30 cm to 100x150 cm.

WELTSMERTZ exhibition will take place in October in RistoArte Corys in Cortona (southern Tuscany) ... in the same place in the Church of St. Charles I should paint a fresco ... more soon.

During the 35th horse race Prstenac in Barban (Istria), last weekend was opened an exhibition of sculptures and paintings by Hrvoje Dumančić and Eugene Varzića. It is the first in a series of joint appearances the two authors. The exhibition was opened by Marino Baldini, who also wrote the foreword to the catalog. The authors deal with the theme of horses (Dumančić) and the Istrian landscape (Varzić).

Traditionally, the race organizer gives presents to president Ivo Josipovic, who was the main guest of the race. Tthis year he handed many gifts, including ham, wine, various Istrian specialties:Dumančić and Varzić personally donated works of art to the President,  will two adorn his office, and other professionals will share its offices.

The exhibition is open untill 22 August,will be placed in the lower school in Barban. The sponsor and organizer of the Municipality of Barban and the Tourist Board of Barban.

Ovogodišnji, drugi po redu, Ex tempore održan proteklog vikenda u Novoj vasi ugostio je preko četrdeset likovnih umjetnika sa istarskog i riječkog područja.Ukupno je bilo izloženo šesdeset i šest slika, rađenih u raznim tehnikama.Ovogodišnji žiri u sastavu Marino Baldini - povjesničar umjetnosti , Marija Buršić - predstavnik MO Nova Vas, Vena Cattunar - predstavnik sponzora, Toni Buršić - savjet mladih, Maurizi Veronese - predstavnik zajednice Talijana i Eugen Varzić - likovni umjetnik nagradili su;

Slike Eugena Varzića u Pulskom turističkom informativnom centru

Tijekom cijelog kolovoza u Turističkom informativnom centru Turističke zajednica Pula postavljena je izložba recentnih radova likovnog umjetnika Eugena Varzića. Čitavo desetljeće prostor Pulskoga turističkog informativnog centra ugošćuje likovne radove umjetnika , te na posebno zanimljiv način promiče suvremenu umjetnost. Za umjetnike je izlaganje u ovom prostoru zanimljivo zbog posjećenosti samoga prostora, koji tijekom mjeseca bilježi više tisuća posjeta.

Varzić predstavlja recentne radove, koji su predviđeni za samostalnu izložbu krajem godine u talijanskoj Cortoni, na jugu Toskane, gdje Varzić već drugu godinu sudjeluje i suorganizira umjetnički projekt Il gusto nel colore.

Radni naziv izložbe je Weltsmertz, a u Puli je izloženo 9 slika rađenih u tehnici ulja na platnu, raznih formata. Slike su odmak od eksperimenta kojemu je autor sklon posljednjih godina, ta se u potpunosti okreće klasičnom pristupu slikanja.Ovo je svojevrsna predpremijera izložbe u Cortoni.

This year the paintings are exhibited in the church of St. Anton in Vrsar, from 10.06.2010. untill the end of the year.Gallery exhibited works depicting the intersection of work from 1993 until today. The paintings can be seen every day with a possible appointment or during regular working hours from 10-13 and from 19-23.

Ston as one of the oldest planned medieval towns built with the longest walls in Europe, the oldest salt works in our country and the many cultural and historical monuments deserves at least one gallery space. Therefore, at the request of Matica Hrvatska the Municipal Council decided Ston on granting use of the Tower Barabanata for future galleries. With great pleasure we can today confirm that the ongoing work on the restoration of the Tower by the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities and we believe that it will be ready by late summer. Thus, by the end of this year, we expect, and finally open the gallery space. Matica Hrvatska Ston past fifteen years in the summertime organize art colony whose aim is to open a gallery in Ston. This year the colony will be held at a time of 30 June 04th July 2010. vol.

Colony was closed, thanks to Nikola and Matica Hrvatska from Stona.It was extremely interesting, warm and nice ... and of course, we painted a lot.

Osim teoretskog dijela sa powerpoint prezentacijom biti će i praktični dio gdje će učesnici seminara biti u prilici osobno isprobati predstavljene materijale.

Početak seminara je  27.05.2010. u 15h 

Mjesto održavanja je Dom HDLU, Trg Žrtava Fašizma bb, Zagreb.

Sav potrebni materijal, boje, mediume, pregače, majice, stručnu popratnu literaturu i ostalo će osigurati organizator.

Pozvani su profesori ALU, te istaknuti umjetnici koji slikaju tehnikom akrila.

U Galeriji „Vjekoslav Karas“ u Karlovcu, Ljudevita Šestića 3, u srijedu 7. srpnja 2010. u 19,00 sati otvara se izložba 5. hrvatskog trienala akvarela.

 Hrvatski triennale akvarela manifestacija je koja se održava, počevši od 1998., svake tri godine u zajedničkoj organizaciji Grada Karlovca i Grada Slavonskog Broda, odnosno Gradskog muzeja Karlovac i Galerije umjetnina grada Slavonskog Broda. Svake tri godine Grad Karlovac i Grad Slavonski Brod izmjenjuje se kao domaćini, ovogodišnji prvi domaćin je Gradski muzej Karlovac.

 Na natječaj za izlaganje na 5. HTA prijavilo se oko dvije stotine autora, akademskih slikara i likovnih amatera, s nešto manje od šest stotina radova, od kojih je ovogodišnji Odbor za izbor djela i nagrade triennala u sastavu: Milan Bešlić, Borivoj Popovčak i Josip Zanki izabrao radove stotinu i dvanaest autora, a među njima i trojicu nagrađenih. Veliku nagradu 5. HTA dobio je rad akdemskog slikara Daniela Butale, a dvije jednakovrijedne nagrade: Nagradu Galerije „Vjekoslav Karas“ i Nagradu Galerije umjetnina grada Slavonskog Broda dobili su Jagor Bučan i Dubravka Kanjski.

Predgovor katalogu izložbe 5. HTA napisali su Nikola Albaneže i Milan Bešlić, a svoju riječ dali su i Damir Jelić, gradonačelnik grada Karlovca i Mirko Duspara, gradonačelnik grada Slavonskog Broda.
